Wintersday (31st December) - Thoughts/predictions/hopes!
So say the Wintersday Criers...
Firstly, we must choose, Grenth or Dwayna. How will this work? A vote? We stand on different sides of a line? We simply talk to the God of our choice? Would we get anything for what we choose?
Then, it says there is an 'annual contest' in Lion's Arch....a fight? A game? ...?
Are the rumors that the Candy Cane weapons and the shields/focii may have something to do with this event?
And, most importantly of all...the result...if Grenth wins, will we really have snow in the cities forever? (or until next Christmas)??? Will there be anything special if Dwayna wins? Choose wisely...
Basically, what will happen and if their is this choice, what will the consequences be?
Predict, discuss, hope!

Well I originally thought something was going to happen on Christmas Day with hats or something, but thats apparently not happening. And I believe Wintersday is next Saturday, which I will be partying and trying to stay very far away from the computer. So whatever happens I will miss, but I expect some kind of battle. No clue how this would work though if it is actually something you watch which I would not put my money on.

I can predict one thing which will 100% come to pass: people will be trying to sell holiday items/components for absurd amounts.
Also, if you run outside of (example, Lion's Arch) and look back in through the gateway... no snow! So I don't think the snowscape will stay, unless they change all that side of things too.

Why are there people like this that say thinking too hard about a game is bad?

Well, all reality is but an illusion.
So you think your parties and girls are all that real eh? Try again in 100 years when they are all nothing but dust
Do whatever you enjoy, and don't try to impose your idea of a "life" onto others.

Grenth will destroy Dwayna; for 2 weeks, no skill based on healing prayers will work and all skills based on Death Magic will be 6x as effective. This will only apply to PvP of course.

more likely, if dwayna wins, normal all over, if grenth wins, snow and cold for a month or 2 more
(or, at least, in game npc minds anyway lol)
depends upon how many Dev observers were at the later of the mad kings visits.
if they mostly looked in about 12 noon to 6pm that day, they might give us something nice like wintersday hats
(gods, i WANT the outfit that the girl in grenth vrs dwayna wears, i dont care if i have to strip down to candycane undies and dance the HoHoHo dance, i Want that dress in GW lol)
on the other hand.....if they were watching folks around 8pm to midnight, i guess our luck just ran out...
people were rude, crude and selfish. and that was just the mentionable ones
so i hope for all our sakes that the devs took an early look at their halloween handywork...
cause if they saw how people were behaving around the 7pm to midnight, they would just say, stuff THAT in your turkey and eat it, and not bother with another end of festival event

meh, some folks worry about ANYTHING lol....
like, oooh, am i wearing a matched pair of socks today? no?
THE HORROR!!!
twould be a shame, though, if they got everyone all wound up with this countdown and then.....didnt do anything.....
ooh, maybe festive fireworks?!
yeah, grab some of the stuff like from LotR and have grenth and dwayna batteling it out as firework deites in the sky.....
bugger it though, some PCs crash with that type of stuff....
( concerned thoughts of a PC fixer lol...)

A huge New Year's celebration, like the end of the World Preview when the huge worms came out of the ground and massacred everyone in LA.

more likely a 24 hour thing....like with the mad king.....he was on a 4 hour cycle, so everyone could go ^^
i went twice, just cause i loved the Mad King Says
and it will probably no be Santa....like peeps say, this is Tyria, not earth.
might be more likely.......Father Frost
old man wintersday....
the SnowFather...
think Yule.....the last day of safe travel befor winters snow sets in to hold you to your homes....
or winter solstice....the middle of the winter calender, so its all downhill towards spring from that night on
and moste likely....will go on all new years eve and new years day....just to be safe hehe.
massacre? noooo, only if grenth won with a landslide (no pun intended hehe)
well, maybe a little one....say, droknars forge *evil grin*
so anyone that wanted to die horribly, many times over, all to the glory of grenth.....they can have a fun time too.

Here is my take for what it's worth,
maybe it be compiled on who's done more of either dwayna quest or grenth's.
Secondly, now this is purely hypthetical. But it will be on the eve of the new comming year, and the new expansion will be out hopefully within 1-2 months so what if we were to get just an incredible update of some of the things we've asked for
I mean no one really knows for sure what to expect..so why couldnt that come to pass.
just my thought for what its worth
I'm ready to be flammed...
great posts i've read from alot of you guys and your ideas..glad to be a member here..
